this brief intermission brought to you by...

The Flu!

That is where I've been the past week, fighting off what we're calling the Marketing Team Plague.
It's taken us down one by one this week, leaving a trail of coughs and sneezes.
Coming from the kid who hasn't been sick since June 2011, I thought it was just a head cold when it started out. But then it took a turn for the worst.
Before I knew it, my entire body was covered in hives (I kid you not, I looked like the surface of the moon), I had a mild fever, and I was coughing and sniffling and getting germs all over my room.

Today is the first day since Saturday night that I've actually felt normal- just some sniffles and coughs left over. And my head! My head doesn't feel like it's going to explode anymore!
And I cannot tell you how relieved I am that this thing finally died out by the weekend. I missed several days of work, was up at random hours in the morning coughing, pacing my room to try to clear the congestion from my head, and diligently applying benadryl gel on my millions of hives.

Not to mention my bad run-in with Sudafed. Sudafed and I are not friends. And I didn't know that until Monday night when Sudafed gave me some messed up, delirious dreams about falling off ledges Temple Run 2 style. In Paris. And I'm pretty sure I thought I was being watched by gremlins when I woke up and started pacing my room at 4am? Yeah, not going there ever again.

Whew. It's been a rough week.

This little Kiwi cat was my constant sick companion. He spent a lot of time curled at my feet and side doing random cat things. You know, just the usual gymnastic back stretches, manly lion yawns, and... playing peek-a-boo?
Maybe he watched that one BBC animal voice-over video too much by the time I took that last photo:
"Daytime... nighttime!"

Happy weekend everyone!
Wash your hands! ;)
